No Disposable Flames!
Mens accessories are very simple...one must have is a lighter . A proper refillable, metal lighter manufactured by Zippo Manufacturing Company of Bradford, Pennsylvania or a Zippo Style lighter that is windproof. I like the classics with a bit of personalization. The Bronze lighter is available for Refinery29 , $30.00 and you can get up to four letters stamped on it.

The Perfect Duffle

I found this perfect Duffle bag that is almost like a Messenger Bag in one of my favorite stores Black Bird in Seattle. This bag by Tokyo-based Patrick Stephan is a handcrafted Horse and cowhide bag which comes in a medium messenger or large duffle size.

Boots are made for walking.
These are two favorites for year round casual , dressy... whatever is clever. Of course based on classic work-wear and military boots . Wear them beat then up resole them... classics that last forever and they look better worn than new.
This is a new store in Virginia with great simple things well made and well priced. Tell them we sent you.

Function is about reason
The military theme again but .. military clothing is less about presentation and more about functionality. It is why military clothing become classic pieces that are translated in traditional and fashion oriented menswear. It is function and form at its finest.
Aitor Throup reworked designs in his archive every six months until he created his current collection based on body armour. This interesting presentation was set up like a New Orleans "funeral procession" with each dressform posed as if they were playing an instrument. To Go to Digital Daze for the full article by clicking on the title or to go the designers website. http://www.aitorthroup.com.

Pharrel
Pharrell Williams at Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin during his Paris Fashion Week visit to talk about his latest furniture creation – the Tank.
If you don't know..Pharrell is one of my favorite artist not just for his music but for his point of view.
He is definitely anti elitist ! This project is a chair design that he launched in Paris. I love the military and industrial ideas. " I like to do things differently and it is what makes the world colorful"

Knit Cap
The olive drab "Cap, Wool, Knit, M1941" was standardized in early 1942, intended for wear under the M-1 Steel Helmet. Although the helmet liner had a webbing suspension system, soldiers liked having the extra padding and warmth of the wool cap.

What Time Is It?
Cellphone have replaced watches for most. Watches for men became all about size. Vintage watches my favorite being vintage Rolexes are what I like to see on men...but the vintage market is vast. My favorite place to research is Michael Aston http://michaelashtonwatches.com. The have a collection of pre owned watches from Eric Clapton and Paul Newman.
